Terms of use

Short by design. These terms govern this website only — the terms of an engagement are always issued separately, in writing.

1

Use of this site

By reading or using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

You may read, download and print pages for your own non-commercial information. You may not scrape, republish, resell or use pages of this site for other publications without written permission, and you may not use the site in a way that impairs it or interferes with other visitors.

2

General information, not advice

Everything on this site is general information about how the practice works. It is not legal, financial or investigatory advice, and it does not take anyone’s specific circumstances into account.

No page on this site is a substitute for a written assessment of your own matter. Decisions about money that has been lost should be made on an assessment, not on a website.

3

No client relationship

Reading this site, or sending an inquiry, does not make you a client and does not create a client relationship.

An engagement begins only when a written assessment proposal has been issued and accepted. Until then, nothing on this site — and nothing in our reply to an inquiry — is professional advice from us to you.

4

No outcome figures, by design

This site deliberately contains no recovery statistics. Figures like “96% success” or “$200 million recovered” usually collapse a judgment, a freeze, a settlement and cash actually received into one flattering number. Our approach to that problem is described on the results page.

Illustrative composites on this site are not accounts of specific clients, and no example should be read as a description of a completed recovery.

5

Ownership of content

The FRBR Recovery name, the site design and its written content belong to us.

You may quote a page if you attribute the source. If you want to republish it, ask first through the inquiry form.

6

Availability

The site is provided as it stands. We work to keep it accurate and available, but without warranty of either: pages can be corrected, moved, suspended or withdrawn without notice.

7

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from the use of this site, the inability to use it, or reliance on its contents.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the place where FRBR Recovery has its principal place of business, and disputes arising out of this website are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts there.

9

Questions

If anything in these terms is unclear, start an inquiry and we will explain it in plain language. If a matter reaches an engagement, its terms — scope, fees, confidentiality and reporting — are always issued as a separate written document.

A note on verification

The disclaimers on this page are not covers for vague claims — they work in the opposite direction. We publish fewer claims, not more, precisely so that everything we do publish can stand up to the verification standard.
